In this heartfelt kapitel, Dovid HaMelech cries out to Elokim from the very ends of the earth when his heart is faint, pleading for Hashem to lead him to a secure rock of safety. He recalls how Hashem has always been his shelter and strong tower against the enemy, and he yearns to dwell in Hashem's tent forever, finding refuge under the shadow of His wings. Dovid HaMelech prays for the life and years of the king to be prolonged in the presence of Elokim, guarded by chesed and emes, so that he may sing praises to Hashem's Name and fulfill his vows day after day.
לַמְנַצֵּחַ עַל־נְגִינַת לְדָוִד׃
שִׁמְעָה אֱלֹהִים רִנָּתִי הַקְשִׁיבָה תְּפִלָּתִי׃
מִקְצֵה הָאָרֶץ אֵלֶיךָ אֶקְרָא בַּעֲטֹף לִבִּי בְּצוּר־יָרוּם מִמֶּנִּי תַנְחֵנִי׃
כִּי־הָיִיתָ מַחְסֶה לִי מִגְדַּל־עֹז מִפְּנֵי אוֹיֵב׃
אָגוּרָה בְאָהָלְךָ עוֹלָמִים אֶחֱסֶה בְסֵתֶר כְּנָפֶיךָ סֶּלָה׃
כִּי־אַתָּה אֱלֹהִים שָׁמַעְתָּ לִנְדָרָי נָתַתָּ יְרֻשַּׁת יִרְאֵי שְׁמֶךָ׃
יָמִים עַל־יְמֵי־מֶלֶךְ תּוֹסִיף שְׁנוֹתָיו כְּמוֹ־דֹר וָדֹר׃
יֵשֵׁב עוֹלָם לִפְנֵי אֱלֹהִים חֶסֶד וֶאֱמֶת מַן יִנְצְרֻהוּ׃
כֵּן אֲזַמְּרָה שִׁמְךָ לָעַד לְשַׁלְּמִי נְדָרַי יוֹם יוֹם׃
