We see the fulfillment of Hashem's promise as Avraham reaches the age of one hundred years old at the time of his son's birth, bringing immense joy to the household after so many years of waiting.
We also learn of Sarah's reaction to this open miracle, as she expresses her gratitude to Hashem for the laughter and joy brought into her life. The aliyah concludes with the growth of the child, his weaning, and the great feast that Avraham made to celebrate this beautiful milestone.
The aliyah begins by noting that Avraham was one hundred years old when Yitzchak was born, followed by Sarah declaring that Hashem has made laughter for her and that all who hear will rejoice with her. She marvels at the miracle of nursing children in her old age, and the passage concludes with Yitzchak growing and being weaned, which Avraham celebrates with a grand feast.
The Torah is telling us that when Sarah Imeinu finally gave birth to Yitzchak, she said, "Everyone who hears will laugh with me." Rashi is bothered by this: why would the whole world share in her private simcha? He explains that a tremendous miracle happened for the entire world at that moment. Many other barren women were remembered and had children, the sick were healed, and the prayers of so many others were answered.
This is a massive chiddush in how we look at our own yeshuos. We often think that when Hashem answers our tefillos, it is a private, individual chessed. But the Torah is teaching us that when Hashem brings a yeshua to a Yid, the shefa is so great that it overflows to the entire world. Your personal breakthrough, your simcha, your moment of salvation is never just about you. It opens the gates of rachamim for everyone around you.
When you are davening for your own needs, or when you are zocheh to see Hashem's kindness in your life, remember this connection. We are all one neshama. When one Yid is helped, the pipeline of blessing is opened wider for the klal. Mimeila, we should never feel alone in our tzaros or isolated in our simchas.
